Meet Hall of Fame Bats founder, Tim Byington.
Game Used Bats from A to Z.
I started out my collecting in 1988 with Topps baseball cards. I pretty much stuck with cards until about 1998 when I started getting a few autographed items both in person and through the mail. That lasted for a couple of years until I discovered game worn jerseys and game used bats. Eventually I sold off all of the jerseys and started specializing in game used bats. My first game used bat was a cracked Louisville Slugger David McCarty game used Royals bat that I bought on Ebay for under $50. That was in 2001.
Since then, I’ve handled game used bats of players from Hank Aaron to Zoilo Versalles and hundreds in between. As of March 2020 I would estimate that I’ve owned and evaluated over 2100 different bats dating from 1900 to the present day including both pro and retail models.
I started Hall of Fame Bats in the summer of 2006 after working an overnight retail job for three years in
River Falls, WI. I am a collector first and foremost, and a dealer second. I get a lot of satisfaction out of helping collectors add quality items at affordable prices.
I am 41 years old and am married with a daughter. I like the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. In
addition to this, I also work part time at the post office as a relief postmaster and am a stay at home dad.
My favorite player of all time is Ty Cobb because of the way he played the game.
