Hillerich & Bradsby model D143 was used by Milt Pappas with the Chicago Cubs likely in 1970 or 1971. The bat shows excellent use. Many ball marks and seam impressions are visible on the right, left, and back barrel surfaces. Some very minor grain swelling is present from repeated contact. Remnants of now worn away Yosh marking to the right of the center label is just barely visible, but this marking confirms this as a Chicago Cubs bat and may have been a carry over. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and a repaired cracked. The knob is stamped with the model number (D143) and Pappas’ #32 is written in fading black marker. Nothing is written on the barrel end.
