Louisville Slugger model S2 was used by Tony Bernazard during the 1984 season as a member of the Cleveland Indians. The bat shows tremendous use. Many ball marks, seam impressions, and ink transfers are visible on the right, left, and back barrel surfaces. There is some grain swelling from repeated contact on the right barrel surface. The handle has a heavy coat of pine tar. It is cracked through the center label. The knob is partially blacked out, but a 4 is visible, which is the number Bernazard wore with Cleveland in 1984. My theory is that part of the blacked out portion on the left side hides a 1 as Bernazard wore #14 with Seattle in 1983. The bat would have been a carryover to Cleveland from Seattle and the 14 was made into a 4. Nothing is written on the barrel end.
