Description
Rawlings model 456B shows heavy use with badly separated wood on the back barrel with some missing pieces. Ball marks, ink transfers, and seam impressions are visible on the front, right, left, and back barrel surfaces. Heavy swelling from repeated contact with separation and wood loss as mentioned. Given the current condition there is a good chance this bat saw some possible use in batting practice as the wood loss likely would not have happened from typical game use. The handle has a heavy coat of pine tar just below the blue ring near the center label. It is not cracked. The knob is stamped with the model number (456B), batch code (024), and year code (01) for 2001. Alou’s #18 is written on both ends in black marker.
