Max Bat model 345 was used during the 2016 season as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals. The bat shows outstanding use. Many ball marks, light seam impressions, and ink transfers are visible on the right, front, and back barrel surfaces. There are many cleat marks and scuffs present on the front barrel with heavy concentration on the right barrel surface. The handle has a moderate coat of pine tar and it is cracked. The lower 9″ of the handle have been spiral wrapped with red and white lizard skin grip tape. The knob is also wrapped in a spider web fashion and Piscotty’s #55 is written in black marker. It is also written inside the cupped barrel end.
The bat is MLB authenticated (JB816707) as having been cracked on August 24, 2016 on a single in the bottom of the 8th inning. The bat was also used for a total of four home runs between August 12th and August 24th. Three of the four are confirmed through both screen shots and video clips. The fourth home run was hit on the very first pitch of the at-bat and so outside of seeing the same color pattern on the lizard skin, a full match is not available.
Video clips of the four home runs are included below:
