Description
BWP model MS22 was used by Miguel Sano with the Minnesota Twins during the 2016 season. The bat shows outstanding use with a handle crack.
Many ball marks, seam impressions, and ink transfers are visible on the front, right, left, and back barrel surfaces. The handle has a slightly splintered crack with no pieces missing. There is a heavy coat of pine tar that has been partially shaved away on the lower portion. His #22 is stamped into the knob. Nothing is written on the barrel end. Sano has autographed the upper handle in black. Not the best autograph.
The bat is MLB Authenticated (JB023957). It was cracked on July 6, 2016 against Oakland in Minnesota. Sano hit a 3-run home run in the 8th inning during the game the previous day on 7/5. It was his 13th round tripper of the season (31st of his career).
Photo matches were mainly inconclusive, but I do know the bat was used in late May. It is certainly possible this is a multi home run bat.
