Description
Rawlings model 634S was used by Midre Cummings most likely in spring training of 1998. Cummings was released by the Phillies on February 24, 1998, and signed with the Cincinnati Reds three days later only to be claimed off waivers by the Red Sox in spring training. The bat shows excellent use with a handle crack. Several ball marks and seam impressions are visible on the left and back barrel surfaces. The handle is cracked and the lower portion has been taped for grip. The knob is stamped with the model number (634S), batch code (004), and year code (98) for 1998. Cummings’ #16 is written in gold on the knob and in black on the barrel end. This was the number he wore for the Phillies in 1997 and likely wore for spring training in 1998 before being released.
