Description
Louisville Slugger model C271 was used by Mark Portugal with the Cincinnati Reds in 1995 or 1996. The bat shows tremendous use with a barrel split that has been secured. Many ball marks and seam impressions are visible on the right, left, and back barrel surfaces. An indentation appears on the left barrel that appears to be from impact with a zip tie, although that does seem rather improbable. There is a small chip missing from the end of the split barrel. Thankfully this split is not visible when displayed. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and is not cracked. The knob is marked in silver with the model number (C271), his #21, and the length (34). Nothing is written on the barrel end.
Portugal has signed the sweet spot in silver.
