Description
This New Era size 7 5/8 hat was worn by Mike Remlinger with the Cincinnati Reds during the 1998 season. The hat shows outstanding wear with staining throughout the sweatband and pilling to the front of the sweatband. Sweat stains are visible on the front and sides of the crown and there is some discoloration of the embroidered C on the front of the hat. Additionally, the brim is stained red from bleeding of the fabric and has a large brown stain on both the bottom and top which is presumed to be rosin. Remlinger’s #43 is written in black marker and the initials of what I assume are his children.
On the back of the hat a #3 is written in black marker. I believe this was in support of teammate Pokey Reese who had suffered an injury and required surgery.
