Description
This New Era size 7 3/4 hat was worn by Mike Remlinger with the Cincinnati Reds during the 1998 season. The hat shows tremendous wear with staining throughout the sweatband and some pilling to the front sweatband. Sweat stains are visible on the front of the crown and there is some discoloration of the embroidered C on the front of the hat. Remlinger’s #43 is written in black marker on the underside of the brim, which has heavy red staining and a dark stain which is possibly rosin.
The #3 written in black marker on the back of the hat is presumed to be in support of teammate Pokey Reese. Reese had suffered an injury and required surgery.
