SSK model JB9 was used by Jorge Soler with the Kansas City Royals during his record setting 2019 season. The bat shows outstanding use with a lower handle crack. Many ball marks, seam impressions, and ink transfers are visible on the right, left, and back barrel surfaces. Several cleat marks are also present.
The handle has traces of pine tar. A crack located in the lower handle approximately 5″ in length lays flat and white lizard skin grip tape has been removed. The crack is located where the lizard skin would have been and was likely the reason for removal.
Soler’s #12 Royals decal is present on the knob and his #12 is written on the barrel end.
The bat is photo matched to a home run on April 18, 2019 at Yankee Stadium. Soler’s home run was his 5th of the season (43rd career). He set the Royals single season home run record in 2019, finishing the season with 48 home runs.
